Vijana Heavens Foundation started God’s work in 2018 with the main mission of empowering underprivileged children and orphans in the slum communities to reach their full potential, improve their living and take advantage of economic opportunities through education.
Almost half of the world’s children live in extreme poverty. For four years, we have been trying to change this by delivering education, shelter to the homeless, health care, livelihoods and teaching children Christ-like character traits and Child Rights protects that benefit the orphans, destitute and vulnerable children in the slum communities of Kampala, Uganda. We know this will take time but let’s cherish what you have helped us accomplish this year 2022.
BACK TO SCHOOL!
After two consecutive years of lock-down, children in our care and those from the slum community where at-risk of returning to school unprepared due to lack of scholastic tools such as books, pens and pencils and school bags to succeed and delay to start school. We fundraiser for back to school drive which was a success and we were able to provide over 100 children most in need with free school supplies that enabled them to learn and succeed in a classroom.
The impact of our program goes beyond the immediate benefits of education. By investing in the education of underserved children, we’re helping to break the cycle of poverty and create a better future for the entire community. Educated children are more likely to grow up to be healthy, productive adults who can contribute positively to society
We’re proud to say that our sponsorship program has already made a significant impact. We’ve seen improvements in academic performance, attendance, and overall well-being among the children in our care. But there’s still much work to be done, and we need your continued support to make a lasting difference.
SPONSORED CHILDREN!
Living in poverty, many children fall behind and some dropout of school without a foundation of an education, children cannot envision a life for themselves beyond circumstances, leading to a future of drugs, violence or chronic unemployment. Our sponsorship program ensures that vulnerable children at our organization are enrolled in public schools to help integrate them into the community. This academic year, our sponsorship program helped 20 underserved children in our care gain access to quality education where they got full school uniforms, lunch and school fees giving them a hope of a sounding future.
CHILDREN LIBRARY!
We all know the importance of early development education to child and that reading is foundational. In our community where we work, children were at-risk of dropping out of school to lack of early literacy activities and most children in our care are young and don’t have resources to attend a real school. In response to this need, we fundraised for a children’s library to enable children who have not got a chance to go to school to learn English and counting, we believe that we can help these children learn reading words, their meaning and how to use them in sentences, then they will be able to understand questions better and pass standardized exams at every grade level and be able to stay in school. Our creative learning opportunities in our community center library boost math and literacy skills that help children stay engaged and on track for education completion.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH!
Due to high costs of food prices brought and rapid increase in fuel prices, Lockdowns and Ebola outbreak in Uganda, many families living in extreme poverty barely had no food to feed to their hungry children on the long waited day that was Christmas Day. Our Favorite part of our community outreach is that we have a chance to offer comfort, love and hope to people in need. We are so blessed to have formed a valuable bond when we are there during their hard times and share with them a basin of food stuffs to take them through the festive season. We prayed with them and a relationship was built during this time and trust was established. We pray GOD blesses monthly and provide them with monthly food support. We were able to reach out to 50 families in need thank you so much for your continuous support
CHRISTMAS PARTY!
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this love of God was manifested towards us that God has sent His only begotten son into the world that we might live through Him. In this love , not that we loved God , but that He loved us and sent His Son to be propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 3:7-11
Christmas reminds us of God’s precious and perfect gift of love to mankind which is Jesus our Savior who He sent to be a propitiation for our sins. Every year we fund raise for Christmas Party to spread the joy of Christmas and touch lives of children in need where we prepare a special meal and gifts for orphaned and valuable children to show them that they are not forgotten but loved. This Christmas, children at our center couldn’t believe the fun they had, the gifts they received and mostly to be able to engage in fun activities with other children in the community without worrying or fear.
We are so blessed to have all these in just one year, all the Glory be to GOD for the generosity of loving friends who stand with us and support His works through us. Together we can do more!

The impact of Vijana Heavens Foundation continues to grow thanks to the generosity of our donors. In 2022, we were able to provide shoes to over 100 children from our slum communities, who otherwise would have gone without. These children now have the protection and support they need for their feet, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Your support is making a real difference in the lives of these children and we are grateful for your contributions.
