It’s time to arm girls with the skills to negotiate and redefine what they are told is possible. At Vijana Heavens Foundation, we are committed to building a foundation for long-term gender equity and community development.
In the slum communities of Kampala, girls and young women face significant social, economic, and cultural barriers that prevent them from realizing their full potential. These challenges include limited access to education, economic exclusion, poor menstrual health management, and lack of leadership opportunities. Many girls miss school due to inadequate menstrual hygiene resources, while others lack mentorship and guidance to navigate their futures. Their voices often go unheard in matters that directly impact their lives.

When Sheilah got a chance to step in class, she put all her effort to learning and be the best in her class and was able to get a full bursary as the best student every term which reduced on the risk of being sent back home for school fees which increased her chances of having a brighter future through education. After successfully completing high school, Sheilah decided to dedicate her time to help children struggling in their studies to catch up in math and literacy.
